Todd is a longtime friend, and a hell of a songwriter (not to mention visual artist, guitarist, and bon-vivant). His songs have a great dreamy atmosphere.

I love how it's a one track album, and the quality of each of the instruments. I'm a big fan of experimental guitar playing and incorporating interesting instruments to songs. The songs have few lyrics but they're more than enough to exploit the music.

Todd! I have been putting your stuff on lately to backtrack peaceful moments like reading, playing games, making, and just spacing off honestly. This album is usually where I start. Less words : into : wait less, more strings FUGGIN RIPS bud! What are the chances you have a secret stockpile of Two Torches enamel pins somewhere? I wear the beast of needs pin on my main jacket!
Sea of Canes
sometimes,
I fear I hear it in her voice
and sometimes it walks across the land
sometimes
it
pours, now it burns
but tonight, I hear them again, so tonight
they visit again
and tonight, they visit again, so
tonight I hear them again
less words
Well, I pressed my throat
up to your chest!
and I hummed
until it broke
so
I pressed those notes
up to the fence!
and I smoke
anything close
(We stay in bed while there's a fire in The Rafters!!!)
And I smoke anything close, and I smoke.
wait less, more strings
What if it's all in the fall?
What if it's all in the fall?
What if it won't happen now?
What if it's all in the fall?
What if it rains again?
What if it's all in the fall?
What if it's an old house?
What if it's a wait?
What if it's an older word?
What if it's a weight?
What if it's alone?
What if it's a wait?
What if the word was so?
What if it's all in the fall?
What if it's a wait?
What if it's a weight?
What if it's a wait?
just another DUM blooze
drunkin' around in a married town alone, drunkin' around in a merry town alone, alone, what a rotten rain! What a rotten reign. Now, there ain't no point in stoppin', there's nothin' to save, nothin' to heal, there's nothing to crave and nothing to feel, alone, what a rotten rain, what a rotten rain. Now there ain't no point in stoppin'!
In a room with the Tall Ones
What'd you hear
What'd you hear
What'd you hear
What'd you hear?
There were snakes in your lungs and a fire on your tongue (so) I mistook it
for sincere
So I'm in love with a lie, so
I'm in love with a lie,
So?
So I'm in love with you, So
I'm in love with you
So?
(still) more wrung in the Wrong?
it still hung
We wrapped a rope 'round the wrong tree, but oh
it still hung

one of my favorites this year, and i'm crossing my fingers it gets a physical release. chris porterfield remains one of the best lyricists, writing songs that conjure up emotions that feel so tangible. his form of storytelling is like sitting down with someone and having a conversation; everything is laid out right in front of you, ready to be picked up.
